One of the most effective cut-face lure designs ever to fish Aussie waters. The Large Apollo is a derivative of an original Joe Yee design that has become one of the all-time greats. During it's early days, the Large Apollo was favoured by Blue Marlin anglers as a Short Rigger lure with no equal. Over time however; it has also proven itself to be incredibly effective when trolled from the Long Rigger position; particularly on rougher days. A relatively straight-running action punctuated by a strong surface pop and short roostertail spray creates a very attractive presentation. Whilst it is a real 'go-to' lure for Blue Marlin anglers; it also produces excellent results on Striped Marlin of all sizes - and has a good reputation for solid hook ups. It's worth noting that the Large Apollo has also been responsible for some of the largest Yellowfin Tuna captures in Australia. There would be few serious Billfish anglers who don't own at least one Large Apollo in the famous 'Evil' colour scheme. A definite 'must-have'.
